Why raises stall

Three things break most fundraises. All three are inputs.

Most founders spend the first two months of a raise emailing firms that were never going to write the check.Investor Intelligence fixes the inputs before the first email goes out.

You're going after the wrong funds.

A fund that only writes $5M checks will take your meeting and never write the $500K one. Fit is stage, sector, check size, and whether they have money to deploy this year.

You don't have nearly enough in your pipeline.

Rounds close on volume. A spreadsheet of thirty names runs out before the first no.

You're pitching investors who can't deploy capital.

Plenty of firms on a scraped list raised their last fund years ago and are out of money. They'll still take the call.

How it works

Your raise goes in. The right investors come out.

The Investor Intelligence Engine researches the whole venture market against your company and round, keeps the firms that hold up on the details, ranks them, and finds the most relevant partner at each. Six beats, below.

Investor Intelligence run
The Engine reads your fundraising profile, scores every firm in the directory against it (stage, sector, check size, dry powder, geography), and ranks the ones most likely to write your check. Each firm comes with the reason it fits and the partner to contact.
Fit
A 0 to 100 score of how likely a firm is to write your check. Only firms above the bar are ever delivered.
Verified email
A direct address for the partner, checked against a verification service before it reaches you. Where no verified address exists, you see that plainly instead of a guess.

Choosing

Which option is right for me?

My round and my targets are straightforward.

Most are. Run Investor Intelligence yourself: fill in your profile, get your list on your own schedule, and start outreach the same day. Target 50 or Full Raise, depending on how much of the list you want.

Self-serve still puts the full Engine to work for you, across 4,000+ venture firms and 15,000+ investor profiles.

See the options

I want help scoping it, and a human review of the results.

Expert-Built Research. We scope the raise with you, run the Engine against that brief, then review every firm and every contact by hand. You are paying for our time and our judgment on investor research: the review that takes a very good list to an excellent one.

Expert-Built Research

My raise is more complex.

Strategics, a narrow sector, an unusual structure, several rounds to plan at once. We work with founders like this at higher levels of engagement. Read how custom lists work and send a booking inquiry, and we'll talk it through.

From founders who ran a raise on it

Less time searching. More confidence in the list.

“What stood out most was the quality of the investor research. You can tell it was built by people who understand how venture actually works, not just another scraped database.”

Charles Douthitt, Founder and CEO, Virnika
“I spent weeks trying to build my own investor list before realizing how time consuming it was to do properly. The Startupverse delivered a highly targeted list of investors aligned with our stage and sector, including the right partners to reach out to. It saved a huge amount of time and gave us a much stronger starting point for our fundraising process.”
Shravan Talupula, Founder, ProfitOps AI
“Using the platform, I added another 100 to 150 relevant investors to my outreach list. More importantly, I was able to score and prioritize them, which helped me narrow my focus to the 50+ investors that were the strongest fit for our round. That saved a tremendous amount of time and made my outreach much more intentional.”
Bobbie Shrivastav, Founder and CEO, Solvrays

Questions

Real questions, straight answers.

How does an Investor Intelligence run work?

You fill in a short profile: stage, sector, check size, geography, timeline, traction. The Engine then researches every firm in our data set against it, across every data point we hold: thesis, stage and check size, fund vintage and dry powder, recent deals, portfolio, the partners and what each has led. It goes deep on the firms that hold up and delivers your list ranked by fit, each firm with the reasoning written out and the partner to contact. Target 50 delivers your top 50 with 90 days of Raise HQ; Full Raise delivers every strong fit, up to 150, with 6 months. Contacts for every firm on your list are included.

What's included with the partner contacts?

Each partner profile shows their direct email when we have it, LinkedIn, X, operator background, prior firms, focus stages and sectors, and the deals they've led. Emails are validated where possible. These are the people who lead deals, not info@ inboxes.

Can I get more firms later?

Yes. A re-run finds the next-best 50 that weren't on your earlier lists, for $499. Only strong fits are ever delivered, so a second list is next in line, never filler.

What happens after the included period?

After your term the workspace continues at $69 a month: the directory, your pipeline, your list, and every contact you've unlocked stay exactly where they are. We email you a week before it renews. Cancel anytime from your account page and nothing more is charged; you keep access through whatever you've already paid for.

How is this different from PitchBook?

PitchBook sells data, and it's built for institutional analysts at tens of thousands a year. We sell answers to the questions a fundraising founder actually has: which firms fit my company and round, who at each firm should I talk to, and why. That means extensive research against an extensive data set, ranked for your raise, from $499.

Why pay for this if I can scrape Crunchbase or LinkedIn for free?

Crunchbase is built for people selling to startups, and LinkedIn is built for everyone. Our data set is proprietary and focused exclusively on investors who write checks into US-based companies, and our research engine works every firm in it against your company and round. What comes back is a ranked list with the reasoning and the right partner at each firm, ready for outreach, in place of weeks of scraping that ends in a list of firms that mostly can't write your check.

Do you offer refunds?

No. This is research, and the value is delivered in full the moment your list arrives, so there's nothing to return. We stand behind the quality of the work: if something in your list is wrong or missing, email tyler@thestartupverse.com and we'll make it right.

What if I'm pre-seed or just starting to think about raising?

Use it now. Investor relationships are best built well before you need the check, and your list shows you exactly which firms and partners are worth building them with. The one reason to wait is if you're still deciding whether venture capital is the right path at all. Commit to that first, or get to the point where it's more likely than not, and then run your list.

Can my whole team use one account?

Each account is set up for one founder. A co-founder can sign up separately. If your team needs shared access, email us and we'll work it out.
